my final image for my Materials class. it took a whopping 35 mins for the render of the image I turned in. could have taken longer, but....

on another note, can anyone spot the few in-jokes?

Numerous hours in Maya
numerous hours searching for/making/modifying textures
lots of render time
I HATE 3D.....

I liked where you could have taken your project, though. It has the potential to become a really badass cityscape. If you need any modeling help, Erin taught me pretty much everything I know about modeling. Not that it says a whole lot, but she's really, really good.

No matter what, though, I will always reach for a pencil & paper before Maya. Or any other 3D program.

Hey, thank you very much! I think I spent way too much time on it, and some of my other classmates had cooler environments, but I think I'm starting to get there.

Largely due to your help. The additions you suggested to the walls really made it come alive. more alive anyway. I think if I'd had more time I'd have modeled a phone and a computer tower. As it stands, it doesn't make sense that the guy would have an iMac and run Windows on it...... o_o

Is there anything else you can think of, though?

I've heard of it, but never seen it. I'm just not sure of the logic behind a CEO running Windows on Mac. One would think he'd just use a PC rather than going through the trouble.
